Meet Ed DeCosta
Catalyst Associates Founder Ed DeCosta is a nationally recognized leader in coaching businesses to the next level, mainly due to a unique combination of academic achievement, practical business experience and coaching specific skills and credentials. His professional experience includes engineering, marketing and leadership positions in Fortune 500 Corporations (Texas Instruments, Babcock & Wilcox), NASDAQ high technology (Cognex Corporation) and an Inc. Magazine's "Inc.500" fastest growing small business (KeyLogic Systems).
The bottom line is that Ed offers clients the expertise developed over 25 years of first rate corporate experience – not theory. He has run projects, sales and marketing teams, made payroll and countless tough business decisions. He honed his skills in a wide variety of business sizes and styles, selling both products and services, to Government and Business-to-Business markets, in Asia, Europe and North America.
DeCosta’s educational background includes a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from West Virginia University, as well as M.A. in International Management and M.B.A. from the University of Texas. He also received a certificate in Business Marketing Strategy from Harvard Business School’s Executive Education program.
Ed is a certified executive coach through the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. He has also earned the distinguished credential of Professional Certified Coach (PCC) from the International Coach Federation (ICF). Fewer than 10 percent of coaches worldwide achieve this designation in their careers.
DeCosta provides his professional expertise as an Adjunct Professor, teaching Entrepreneurship and Professional Selling in West Virginia University’s College of Business and Economics. Ed also volunteers his time in support of the Statewide Business Plan Competition and regional business incubators.
A native Bostonian, DeCosta makes his home surrounded by the beautiful mountains of Morgantown, WV. Ed and wife Linda enjoy keeping up with their three children and twin Siamese cats.
